Alumni Spotlight

Andrij Parekh '90Andrij Parekh '90 won this year's Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Directing for a Drama Series—on his birthday no less. He received the award for his work on HBO's "Succession" (season 2, episode 3 "Hunting"). Some of his other notable works include "13 Reasons Why" (episodes "Tape 1 Side A" and "Tape 1 Side B") and "Watchmen" (episode "If You Don't Like My Story, Write Your Own"). This year's Emmy nominees participated virtually in the ceremony. In his acceptance, Andrij dedicated his award "to all the kids whose names, like mine, are difficult to pronounce. To those who don't look like their classmates and are defined as outsiders—as hyphenated Americans, and not simply just as Americans. This is proof that you belong, and this Emmy is ours."
