Wall Street Journal reporter Michael Phillips '80 got a rare opportunity to fly to the edge of space in a U-2 spy plane. Watch this video in which Michael explores why America's oldest working spy plane is still soaring above 70,000 feet.

Liz Olson '98, an assistant professor of anthropology at Southern Utah University, received the school's Community Engaged Scholar award for her work connecting classroom with the community in a collaborative and self-reflecting learning process

Katrina Lake '01, founder and CEO of Stitch Fix, was featured in a recent issue of Time magazine. Read "Stitch Fix Has One of Silicon Valley's Few Female CEOs. But The Company Stands Out For More Than That" and "Stitch Fix CEO Katrina Lake on Why Gender Matters In the Business World."

Brittany Randolph '08 is a founding member and marketing communications manager for Bow Wow Labs, which makes products that keep dogs safe and makes dog ownership fun and enjoyable. Sam Shapiro '18, founder of the nonprofit Sprint to Cite Soleil, talks about his work to help people in Haiti through basketball in a recent Q&A.

Boys' Tennis Takes 2A State Title

Blake boys' tennis team

In its first year playing in class 2A, the Blake boys' tennis team has won the state championship. The Bears defeated Rochester Century 4-3 in the finals to claim the title. In doing so, they became the first boys' tennis team in state history to win a championship after moving up a class. Girls' Track Wins State

Blake girls' track and field team

The Bears won the girls' track and field team 1A state title at the 2018 Minnesota State High School League championships at Hamline University. The team scored 46 points; Winona Cotter came in second place with 42 points. In addition, Blake's Robbie Grace '19 took the state girls' long jump title.

Anne Stavney and Erica Dolland '98Erica Dolland '98 was honored as Young Alumna of the Year at the May Breakfast at Blake, where she discussed her work in education in the U.S., West Africa and the Middle East. Her presentation is available on Blake's YouTube channel.
