Knudson Memorial at Northrop

Former Northrop and Blake teacher Clint Knudson died on Sept. 9 at age 94. A memorial will be held in the Juliet Nelson Auditorium of the Northrop campus (511 Kenwood Parkway, Minneapolis) on Sunday, Sept. 24. Read more

Alumni Spotlight

Cornell University Press recently issued the second edition of "Rural Radicals" by Catherine Stock Lefeber '76. In her new preface, Catherine provides an update and overview of the conservative face of rural America.

Jon Foss '83 reflects on the beginnings of his family business and the lessons he has learned as Foss Swim School celebrates its 25th anniversary.

"Angelica," a novel by Arthur Phillips '86, has been made into a movie, which will be in select theaters and available to rent and own on Nov. 17. Watch the trailer

Wendy Helgemo '87 has joined the George Washington University as inaugural director of the AT&T Center for Indigenous Politics and Policy (CIPP), a GW-based research and advocacy center that provides support to tribal leaders and promotes public awareness on issues of national significance to indigenous communities, including public health, housing, economic security and education.

Alex Barry '11 has been tapped to manage business growth for prooV, an Israel-based tech startup. She is the first employee to inhabit their new American office. Read more

Libby Franchot '17, a freshman forward for Carleton College's women's soccer team, scored the game-winning goal in the team's 3-2 victory over UW-Eau Claire in both teams' season opener. Read more

With a $500 donation to the puck wall, you can have your name (or the name of a loved one) included on an individual puck and prominently displayed in the newly renovated arena. Give before Friday, Oct. 13 and your puck will be unveiled during our community celebration on Saturday, Nov. 11.

Blake Science and Photo Project Debuts at State Fair

Environmental Science and Photography II students collaborated with the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency to create informational artworks, which were on display in the Eco Experience building during this year's Minnesota State Fair. The exhibit will be part of the Mississippi Watershed Management Organization community facility in Minneapolis. Read more

Once an iconic child symbol of war, Kim Phuc tells an inspiring story of courage and forgiveness unlike any other. She will speak at an evening event open to the broader Twin Cities community on Wednesday, Oct. 11 at 7pm at the Upper School (511 Kenwood Parkway, Minneapolis). Read more
